Health Informatics
Health Informatics is an evolving field that focuses on health systems structure and operations and secondary data and technology system design for efficient clinical care. Health Informatics combines computer science, information technology, process improvement, and healthcare administration. Nursing Informatics is a similar field with a focus on patient safety and the quality of care of patients, whereas Health Informatics focuses business and population health focus complying with regulations and improving hospital outcomes.
We align the program with the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and the Commission on Accreditation of Health Informatics and Information Management (CAHIIM) curriculum standards and support a collaboration with Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
