The University President is the chief executive and educational officer of the university and is charged with responsibility for providing general supervision over all affairs of the university. The president is elected by the Board of Trustees and, once elected, sits as an ex officio member of the board and of all its standing committees. Pursuant to university bylaws, the president is a member of every faculty and every separate academic unit of the university.
Jacksonville University is served by a Provost, who acts as the Chief Academic Officer of the university and oversees all academic affairs. Under the president, the Provost oversees all academic programs and provides general administrative supervision of all units of the university.
