Professional Information
Dr. Paul Lascuna is an Assistant Professor in the Keigwin School of Nursing within the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences at Jacksonville University. He is a retired U.S. Army Officer and specializes in military medicine, trauma, critical care, and emergency care. Dr. Lascuna has been deployed to many theatres of operation providing care for military personnel in robust areas. He has over 23 years of nursing experience starting out as an EMT-B, LPN, BSN, MSN, and DNP. Dr. Lascuna has served as a nurse in the areas of critical care/ICU, emergency departments, operating room, case manager, medical-surgery, trauma center, and combat nursing abroad. As a Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Lascuna specializes in Trauma, Emergency/Critical Care, and recently Renal Transplant Medicine. He maintains practice at local emergency departments and urgent cares within Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Lascuna is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association and The American Society of Transplantation. In 2011, Dr. Lascuna was awarded the “Everyday Heroes Award” by Texas Tech University, and in 2013, he was selected and received the Distinguished Honor Award for Clinical Excellence. In 2014, he was awarded the prestigious Bovard Award by the U.S. Army Nurse Corps-an award given to the top Nurse Corps Officer in the Western Region. Dr. Lascuna’s passion is to continue to serve the local community and veterans.
