Job Summary
This position supports the entire Student Financial Services by assisting with duties ranging from customer service to special projects. Answer phones, email and in-person requests for financial services information. Assists with billing third party sponsorship. Document imaging and other projects involving working with spreadsheets.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Customer Service – represents JU and the student accounts office in a professional, friendly and caring manner.
- Answer phones, emails and in person requests for financial services information in a timely manner.
- Collect payments from students.
- Accept deposits from auxiliary university offices; advancement, orthodontics, fine arts, athletics. Make daily deposits.
- Reconcile cash drawer to daily cash receipt sessions.
- Verify student health insurance information and code waivers.
- Manage official payments, online payment processing, to include daily reconciliations.
- Works with staff to assist with billing third party sponsors.
- Works with staff to assist with student account collections.
- Assist with creating, adjusting and managing student payment plans.
- Transfer funds from student accounts to Dolphin 1 cards.
- Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned by supervisor.

- Excellent problem solving skills and resourcefulness
Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience
- High school diploma
- Associate’s degree preferred
- Excellent computer skills
- Customer service experience
- Some accounting experience preferred but not required
- Previous cash-handling experience
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach.
- Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines.
- Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone
