Job Summary

This position supports the entire Student Financial Services by assisting with duties ranging from customer service to special projects. Answer phones, email and in-person requests for financial services information. Assists with billing third party sponsorship. Document imaging and other projects involving working with spreadsheets. 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Customer Service – represents JU and the student accounts office in a professional, friendly and caring manner.
  • Answer phones, emails and in person requests for financial services information in a timely manner.
  • Collect payments from students.
  • Accept deposits from auxiliary university offices; advancement, orthodontics, fine arts, athletics. Make daily deposits.
  • Reconcile cash drawer to daily cash receipt sessions.
  • Verify student health insurance information and code waivers.
  • Manage official payments, online payment processing, to include daily reconciliations.
  • Works with staff to assist with billing third party sponsors.
  • Works with staff to assist with student account collections.
  • Assist with creating, adjusting and managing student payment plans.
  • Transfer funds from student accounts to Dolphin 1 cards.
  • Performs other related duties or special projects as assigned by supervisor.

Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience

  • High school diploma
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Some accounting experience preferred but not required
  • Previous cash-handling experience

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach.
  • Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines.
  • Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone
