Position Summary
The Department of Engineering at Jacksonville University is seeking an Associate Professor. The position is anticipated to be tenured with appropriate credentials.
Candidates must have a track record of:
- Excellence as an educator in project- and design-based undergraduate engineering programs
- Engaging undergraduate students in research
- Attracting external funding
- Soliciting and advising sponsored senior design projects
- Excellence in service in academia and to the profession
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, and qualifications commensurate with a tenured appointment at the Associate Professor level. The selection of the academic background of the successful candidate is contingent on the outcome of other faculty searches in the department. The position is a 9-month appointment that involves soliciting sponsored projects from industry to engage students in design and research, building a successful undergraduate research program with external funding, and teaching courses in a design intensive curriculum. The University is building a new facility for students and faculty to engage in creative design, and it is anticipated to be open by Fall of 2020.
