Position Summary

The department of Computing Science at Jacksonville University invites applications for a tenure track position, beginning August 2019. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in computer science, information systems, computer information systems or closely related area by August 16, 2019.

The department features majors in Computing Science, Information Systems, and Cyber security. The ability to teach a broad range of lower-level and upper-level courses is desired as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. Specialization is open, with preference given to candidates having experience with ABET accreditation. Ideal candidates will have expertise and teaching experience in one or more of the following areas: cyber security; database design; operating systems; networking and communication; software engineering; project management; mobile application development; data mining and big data analytics. Experience directing students in undergraduate research and development of software applications as a capstone course would be beneficial. Additional expectations include actively pursuing scholarly research and professional development opportunities.
