The Department of Chemistry at Jacksonville University invites applications for a
tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor of Chemistry to start in Jan. 2022;
candidates requesting a fall 2022 start date will be considered. The search is open
to all areas of chemistry but candidates with expertise in analytical, organic chemistry
and/or chemical education research, as well as undergraduate teaching experience are
encouraged to apply. Applicants must have completed their Ph.D. in chemistry by Dec.
2021, and possess a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research. Teaching
responsibilities include Introductory Chemistry, General Chemistry and upper-level
undergraduate courses matching the expertise of the candidate. The successful candidate
will demonstrate the ability to excite and interest students in the classroom and
the lab. Additionally, the candidate is expected to lead student research in a liberal-arts
environment and create an inclusive classroom that can engage the interests of an
increasingly diverse student population.
