Position Summary

Teaching responsibilities include assisting with classroom/lab instruction during simulation and skills up to 30 hours per academic year; teaching one course per term – Fall, Spring, Summer; clinical site visit supervision of 10-15 students per term; precepting up to 4 students per Academic Year. 

Essential Job Duties

  • Part time faculty position
  • Weekly office hours for students in assigned courses

Special Skills

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Computer literate

Work Conditions

  • Primarily indoors except when traveling between campus buildings or being off-campus\
  • Some off-campus travel required
  • Work is performed under minimum supervision and requires incumbent to exercise independence and discretion

Physical Requirements

  • Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and scientific equipment
  • Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens
  • Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone

Prerequisites Required for Position

Minimum Education Requirement

  • AGACNP certification required
  • Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) preferred

Minimum Work Experience

  • No less than five (5) years as practicing nurse practitioner

Preferred Qualifications

  • AGACNP
  • Teaching experience
  • Current Florida nursing license or is eligible to obtain a nursing license in the state of Florida
