Job Summary

Under the direction of the Deputy Athletics Director/COO, the Assistant AD of External Operations is responsible for managing Athletics external department day-to-day operations in the areas of ticket sales, engagement, and marketing. The successful employee will have a demonstrated track record of building relationships, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and possessing a passion for intercollegiate athletics -- all while exemplifying the Jacksonville University Athletic Department Core Values:

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Graduate Assistant/Marketing 

Duties/Responsibilities

Fundraising & Development

  • Assist with planning and execution of high-level Athletic events
  • Donor dedications, nationally broadcasted games, major fundraising initiatives
  • Planning and execution of all game day operations
  • Collaborates with coaches and administrators for sport- specific marketing campaigns and goals
  • Serve as department liaison to ticketing operations for all of campus

External Engagement

  • Utilize written communication skills to develop external promotions, graphics and ads to Athletics supporters, alumni, and fans
  • Track external engagement data and analytics
  • Design and creative content production and assistance as needed
  • Responsible for managing all Athletic department ticketing

Marketing & Operations

  • Oversight of all marketing promotional schedules
  • Ensures executed fulfillment for Van Wagner Sports & Entertainment contracted elements
  • Ensures department and vendor adherence to University Brand standards
  • Continually collaborates with Universirty partners- Aramark (facilities and dining), University scheduling, University Advancement, Marketing & Communications
  • Develop comprehensive student sports marketing internship program
  • Supervise Assistant Director of Marketing
    • Indirect oversight of student interns and marketing street team
  • Other duties as assigned 

Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, business, public relations, communications or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years professional experience in fundraising, marketing, engagement, events or other related field. Direct experience in college athletics preferred 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
