Job Summary

The Davis School of Business and Technology invites applications for a full-time position as Clinical Assistant Professor in Engineering and Business to prepare career-ready graduates through hands-on learning experiences.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in engineering, business, and engineering management.
  • Participate in program curriculum development initiatives, such as the planning of new programs and initiatives, including biomedical engineering.
  • Assists with implementation of departmental, division, and university programs and initiatives, such as expanding design projects and engineering management experiences.
  • Department, college, and university service.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • The ability to incorporate technology into classroom and engineering laboratory teaching and to teach online and hybrid classes.
  • The ability to teach a broad range of lower-level and upper-level courses, including senior design, as demonstrated by previous teaching experience and/or extensive industrial practice.
  • The ability to teach business courses in area of expertise.
  • The ability to work with diverse students and various class sizes, in project-based environments.
  • The ability to work in a collaborative and cooperative manner with existing faculty, staff and students.

Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience

  • Master’s degree or above in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a closely-related field, with experience significant in responsibility and duration to teach courses in related areas of business management or decision sciences.
  • Industry experience in designing and developing engineering products preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience at college level preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines.
  • Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and virtually.
  • Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens.
  • Stamina to teach up to 24 hours weekly
