Job Summary
- Instructor of World Languages with competencies in French and Spanish
- Teaching duties in the introductory French and Spanish sequences
- Renewable, non-tenure track
Duties/Responsibilities
- Teach four 3-credit courses per semester
- Coordinate syllabus and other academic work with language program coordinator
- Assess students and record grades in a timely manner
- Provide assessment data for accreditation, as needed
- Attend departmental meetings and school events
- Encourage beginning language students to continue their study of World Languages
- Native or near-native proficiency in English, French, and Spanish
- Commitment to proficiency-based language instruction methodologies
Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience
Minimum Education Requirement:
- Masters degree in Spanish or French (or related field)
Minimum Work Experience:
- Teaching experience as instructor-of-record in the language classroom preferred
- Experience with Learning Management System software (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. (not required)
- Masters (required)
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines
- Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and virtually. Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens
- Stamina to teach at least 12 hours weekly.
