Biography
Daphne Wang, Ph.D., CMA® is the Walker/Wells Fargo Endowed Chair of Finance and Professor of Finance in the Department of Accounting, Finance & Analytics at Jacksonville University's Davis College of Business & Technology. She holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Texas and has been a faculty member at Jacksonville University since 2015.
Dr. Wang's research spans corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, credit ratings, earnings management, financial institutions, anti-money laundering, and emerging markets, with publications in outlets such as the Journal of Empirical Finance, Advances in Accounting, Journal of Accounting Literature, Emerging Markets Review, and Finance Research Letters. Her work has been featured in CBS Houston and Human Resource Executive Online.
A dedicated mentor and teacher, she has directed numerous doctoral dissertations and guided students to national recognition, including a CFA Research Challenge Americas Regional Championship and back-to-back Florida state titles. She has received multiple institutional honors, including JU Professor of the Year (2025–2026) and the Faculty Excellence Award in Scholarship/Research.
With over $162,000 in funded grants and a background that includes corporate executive experience and international research, Dr. Wang brings a uniquely global and applied perspective to finance education and scholarship.
