What is the application deadline?
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. For the spring (evening/weekend courses)
program start, students should submit a completed application no later than November
20. For the fall (traditional day) program start, applications should be completed by
July 1.
When does the Practical Nurse program start?
The traditional day (fall) program begins early August. The evening/weekend (spring)
program begins early January. Please refer to the Jacksonville University Academic Calendar for more information about semester start dates.
What is the difference between the traditional day (fall) and evening/weekend (spring)
programs?
The traditional day (fall) program begins in August with classes and clinicals taking
place between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Evening/weekend (spring) program begins in January
with classes taking place between 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Clinicals
are subject to change due to availability.
What are the application requirements?
For a completed application, you will need to submit a writing sample, virtual interview,
and all transcripts from your highest level of education. Please note that after initial
interview of your application materials, a TEAS or HESI score may be requested as supplementary material.
How do I take the TEAS test of HESI exam?
The TEAS test can be registered for and completed online. It is flexible with your
schedule and location. Please visit the TEAS website for more information. The HESI exam is an in-person proctored exam and not offered
as frequently. Please visit the HESI exam website for more information and to register for the exam.
How long is the program?
The Practical Nurse (PN) program takes 12 months to complete.
What classes will I take? How many credit hours?
The Practical Nurse (PN) curriculum can be found on the program flyer. The total number
of credit hours to complete the program is 44.
What is the cost of the program?
Tuition for this program is $19,000 plus fees. The approximate total is $20,130 for
the program.
Do I qualify for financial aid?
Students are eligible for financial aid. A FASFA form will need to be completed for
our financial aid counselors to put together a financial aid award.
