Michelle Brock Kemp holds a Bachelor’s degree in Voice and Clarinet from the Florida State University School of Music, Graduate Work from Florida State University in Voice, and a MM in voice from Florida International University. Her voice teachers include, Dr. Carole Clifford, Roy Delp from Florida State University and Dr. Craig Maddox from Stetson University.

She has been a multiple NATS winner at the Regional level and has performed in master classes with Sherril Milnes and Virginia Zeani. Mrs. Brock Kemp also had the opportunity to coach with Virginia Zeani in her home while working on the role of Lucia from Lucia di Lammermoor.

As a soloist, Michelle has sung throughout Florida performing in Opera Moments programs, art song, cantatas, and various other works. She has performed for the Opera Atelier, Florida International Opera Theater, the Aventura Theater, and the Florida Grand Opera’s passport program. Michelle particularly enjoys featuring new works by living composers. In 2010, composer Catalina Von Wrangel wrote a chamber work specifically for her called Introspection, which was premiered in Miami, FL in 2011. Dr. Thomas Harrison also wrote a work for her called Flowing Through and it was premiered in 2015.

Her opera roles include Lucia from Lucia di Lammermoor, La Fee from Cendrillon by Massenet, Miss Jessel from Turn of the Screw by Britten, and Rene from La Creole by Offenbach.
