Student & Alumni Organizations

The following student organizations are housed or originate in the Davis College of Business & Technology. This is not an exhaustive list. For more student organizations, contact Student Life.

Beta Gamma Sigma​​

The mission of this Society is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business, to foster personal and professional excellence, to advance the values of the Society, and to serve its lifelong members. The organization has been able to make a direct impact on students through its annual $5,000.00 scholarship and has a current membership that included faculty, students and the mayor of Jacksonville. Membership is by invitation, and election to lifetime membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest honor a business student anywhere in the world can receive in an undergraduate or master’s program at a school accredited by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International.

Davis Entrepreneurs Organization (D.E.O)​​​

Our mission is to empower JU students to think big, be bold, and discover themselves through entrepreneurship. Davis Entrepreneurship Organization was created to help spread knowledge and awareness of entrepreneurialism with the students of JU. We believe that entrepreneurialism is not restricted to business majors or the Davis College of Business & Technology, but can be applied to virtually every major, since the virtues valuable to a successful entrepreneur could be utilized in any major.

Dolphin Student Investment Fund Student-Managed Investment Fund

The Dolphin Student Investment Fund is a student organization which manages the Davis endowment pool of funds for the Davis College of Business & Technology. The student group is mentored and led by Dr. Bob Boylan, Botts Endowed Chair of Finance, and Dr. Daphne Wang, Assistant Professor of Finance. The Dolphin Student Investment Fund is composed of two parts: the Investment Group and the Operations Group.​

National Society for Leadership and Success​​​

The NSLS is the largest leadership honor society in the United States. Our NSLS chapter at  Jacksonville University was started in 2013. Our local chapter is part of the national organization with 700+ chapters and over 1.4 million members. Students are selected based on exemplary academic achievement and leadership potential. As of 2021, we have 1,652 members who have access to nearly $500,000 in scholarships, an exclusive NSLS job board, a personalized letter of recommendation, and who learn from exceptional leaders like former President Barack Obama during exclusive Speaker Broadcasts. JU Graduate Students (J.U.G.S.)

JUGS (JU Graduate Students) is a Graduate Student run organization that seeks to be the voice for all graduate students at JU. We are looking to expand our influence by creating Representative positions for all Graduate programs, as well as a Faculty/Professor Ambassador program.

Graduate Study Room

One of the many benefits to being a Davis Graduate Student is access to the Graduate Study Room. It is the perfect environment for group meetings to work on projects, study or even just relax in between classes. The room is equipped with computers, a white board and reference books. It even includes a refrigerator, microwave and water cooler for your convenience. Enter through the graduate office located in the Davis College of Business & Technology, Room 209.​

Alumni Mixers

The Davis Graduate Office hosts joint Alumni Mixers and Open Houses each semester. Once you graduate, stay in touch with your fellow alum, learn about our new and exciting programs, and speak to perspective Davis Graduate students.​ Find out when the next open house is​!​

Zimmerman Scholars

The Zimmerman Scholars Program is the premier leadership development program for undergraduate students in the Davis College of Business & Technology.  The program is designed to prepare top students for leadership positions in major international organizations.

Alpha Kappa Psi​​​

Greek, co-ed professional organization. Epsilon Tau chapter established on JU campus for the purpose of professional skills, presentation, and communication development. This group has an established charter, but it is no longer an active organization. If you're interested in leading the redevelopment of this organization, visit the Dean's Suite.

Davis College of Business & Technology Student Ambassadors

The Davis College of Business & Technology Student Ambassadors are an elite group of student leaders who volunteer to represent the Davis College of Business & Technology. This group of diverse students work together to promote the college and enhance student engagement through various events. Their purpose is to create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for students and visitors. They strive to exemplify the mission, vision, and values of the Davis College of Business & Technology.
