Due to a threat made this afternoon (January 22), anyone currently on campus is asked to evacuate IMMEDIATELY. Authorities have been notified, and the incident is under investigation. Find a safe place to shelter off campus until further notice.
Wednesday, December 16: Updated "Determined to Stay" to "Ready to Return." We are currently in the process
of updating the site to reflect the policies for Spring 2021. The site will be fully
updated in early January.
Thursday, August 27: Updated Self-Health Check information to reflect new digital tool that will prompt
students and employees to check their health daily before clearing them to come to
campus.
Friday, August 21: Updated policies regarding gatherings and parties, including intended sanctions against
violators. Updated Undergraduate Students information with suggestions and reminders
for safe and healthy alternative choices.
Thursday, August 20: Updated "Ready to Return" to "Determined to Stay." Removed content about action students,
faculty, and staff were asked to take prior to returning to campus. Updated home page
with important reminders about expectations of students.
Friday, August 14: Replaced video on home page with new one welcoming the community to campus. Added
Active Cases.
Tuesday, August 11: Added information about the check-in process for Move-In. Campus Safety and Security
will screen guests and visitors entering the University by conducting a temperature
check and asking health screening questions. Once visitors or guests have passed the
screening, they will be provided with a parking pass and directed to the appropriate
parking lot. All entrances to the University except for the main entrance will be
closed or exit only to support the health screening process.
Saturday, August 1: Updated health and wellness plan to be more specific about duration of time allowed
in close proximity (no more than 15 minutes) while in protective equipment. Expanded
directions regarding areas of campus where masks must be worn (all indoor spaces,
except in the case of residential students' own rooms).
JU Student Health Center and Patient Portal website came online. Links to those sites added throughout the
Ready to Return site.
Tuesday, July 7: Jacksonville University is aware of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement announcement
dated July 6, 2020, regarding online education and is working with attorneys and experts
to develop a plan which will best allow International Students to continue their education
while adhering to all immigration laws. Communication will be forthcoming as decisions
are finalized.
Monday, June 29: The City of Jacksonville issued an order, taking effect at 5:00 p.m., mandating the
use of face coverings in indoor areas and public areas where you cannot socially distance.
