About Prof. Dew
Chris Dew has been an English Instructor at Jacksonville University for 17 years where
he has created and taught a variety of classes including The Hero’s Journey and Star
Wars, Service Learning with the St. Johns Riverkeeper, The Poetry of Song Lyrics,
and Southern Women Writers. He holds both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree
from the University of North Florida in English and a Master’s Certificate in Songwriting
from Berklee Music Online. He is proud of his work as co-advisor of Aquarian, Jacksonville University’s award-winning Arts and Literary magazine. In 2024, Chris
was honored to win the Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award at JU. In his spare time,
he is an avid fisherman, father of an incredible pre-nursing student, devoted husband,
poet and songwriter.
