                                                         in Occupational Therapy
- Ph.D. in Occupational Therapy, anticipated Spring 2025
                                                   Melissa Sevestre has been a practicing occupational therapist since 2008. Prior to
                                                   becoming an occupational therapist, she worked as a teacher for children with autism
                                                   in the public school system. After completing her Master's in Occupational Therapy,
                                                   she practiced in the areas of pediatrics, community-based practice, and mental health.
                                                   She was also an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program Director for over eight years.
                                                   Ms. Sevestre also holds certifications in Interactive Metronome and Integrated Learning
                                                   Systems. Her dissertation studies focus on the implicit bias of occupational therapy
                                                   fieldwork educators. Ms. Sevestre’s research interests include implicit bias, cultural
                                                   humility, mental health, and community-based practice.
