The Division of Visual Arts is dedicated to providing programs of excellence based on the University Core Curriculum, art and art history fundamental courses, and strong in-depth concentrations within one of the major programs sponsored by the division. The visual arts faculty provides opportunities for all students to discover and learn an appreciation for the rich tradition of the visual arts and to study and develop artistic skills, technical capabilities, perceptual knowledge, expertise in design, and aesthetic sensitivity. The major in Animation leading to the BFA degree is designed to provide those students passionate about using the computer to breathe life into their artwork with the creative and technical skill sets to do so. Storytelling through sound animation principles is the underlying principle in all that we do, from design to modeling and through animation to rendering. Majoring in Animation at JU will prepare the successful student to enter the field of Animation in the areas of independent narrative filmmaking, commercial animation and/or animation for games.
All students intending to major in Visual Arts must meet the Jacksonville University requirements for admissions and must complete an official application with the University’s Admissions office. Additionally, students applying for admission into the Visual Arts must gain admission into the chosen degree program through a portfolio review process. 05:45- "I have pierced ears."
05:48- "NO! No, no and no. Not happening. Sorry wrong number I won’t. I refuse."
05:54- "It’s like a predator, it’s stalking you. Oh, you can try and out run it with doctors, medicines, but in the end, time is going to hunt you down… and make the kill."
06:15- "There was a time in this business when they had the eyes of the whole wide world! But that wasn’t good enough for them. Oh no! They had to have the ears of the world too. So, they opened their big mouths and out came talk, TALK, TALK."
08:30- "You got me so wild. How can I ever deny? You got me so high. So high I cannot feel the fire. And you keep telling me. Telling me that you’ll be sweet. And you’ll never want to leave my side. As long as I don’t break these… promises."
09:12- Fighting noises
09:30- "What can I compare you to, a favorite pair of shoes? Maybe my bright red boots, if they had wings. Funny how we animate colorful objects saved. Funny how we animate colorful objects saved. Funny how it’s hard to take a love with no sting. But come on take it, come on take it, take it from me."
10:00- "Everybody all for one. A real summer has just begun. Let's rock and roll and just let it go. Feel the rhythm of the drums. We're gonna have fun in the sun. Now that all the hard work, work is done. Everybody, one for all and all for one. All for one. All for one. One. Woo!"
