University Scholars

Our Mission

The University Scholars program was created to afford advanced students opportunities to develop in leadership through networking with top-leaders in the academic, business, political, and social areas of Jacksonville. University Scholars will also have the opportunity to interract and connect with key administrators, staff, and faculty at Jacksonville University. 

This program does not require a formal application and interview process. University Scholars includes a focused JU 101 class, special orientation, and exclusive events.

JU 159 (3 Credits)

  • Presentations from some of Jacksonville's most influential business and community leaders
  • Visit with Jacksonville University Alum and University President, Tim Cost
  • Visit with Jacksonville University Interim Provost, Dr. Christine Sapienza

Eligibility

  • 3.5+ weighted high school GPA
  • Combined SAT Score of 1180 and/or ACT Composite Score of 24
  • Demonstrated commitment to community service and/or leadership

Maintaining University Scholars

To remain in good standing in the University Scholars Program you must maintain the following:

  • Attendance at all JU 159 classes
  • Attendance at all required speakers' presentations
  • Completion of service learning requirement
