The Bachelor of Arts degree in Art offers students the opportunity to explore a liberal arts degree program with a concentration in Art History.
The concentration in Art History is only available as part of the Bachelor of Arts degree.
Art History courses are required as part of the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art program, so the BFA in Art requires a different, dedicated concentration.
All BA Art majors must complete a series of required Art Fundamentals courses, plus 18-20 credit hours of Art History courses offered under the direction of a visual arts faculty member or division chair. Eligible courses are listed in the course catalog each year.
All students intending to major in Visual Arts must meet the Jacksonville University requirements for admissions and must complete an official application with the University’s Admissions office. Additionally, students applying for admission into the Visual Arts must gain admission into the chosen degree program through a portfolio review process.
