Jacksonville University Professor wins Anatomage Outstanding Teacher Award

Anatomage Inc, a market leader in medical imaging technology, announced the winners of the Anatomage Outstanding Teacher Award. The award recognizes educators who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and innovation in teaching anatomy and medical sciences.

The Anatomage Outstanding Teacher Award, in its first year, received nominations from across the U.S. After a rigorous evaluation process, a panel of esteemed judges has selected the following individuals in three categories as the winners for this year:

Dr. Sandy Brown has been a licensed OT since 1998. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics (BCP) through the AOTA and is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She has specialized in pediatrics, however has worked in a variety of settings including home based, schools, private practice, residential facilities, outpatient clinics, and academia. She has also served as a center manager for a large outpatient rehabilitation clinic.

She received her Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Florida in 2017 where she conducted research examining the impact of challenging behaviors on a child’s participation in therapy. Dr. Brown is a frequent invited speaker at conferences, academic institutions, and community events. Dr. Brown’s research interests include pediatric outcomes, quality of life, participation, knowledge translation, and clinical reasoning. Dr. Brown has also won the Jacksonville University Excellence in Teaching Award. 

The winners of these awards have displayed unwavering commitment to their students' success and consistently foster an engaging and transformative learning environment, incorporating the latest teaching tools and techniques. They have demonstrated innovation in their teaching methodologies and have utilized Anatomage's cutting-edge technology to enhance anatomy education in their respective institutions, further inspiring education and careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.

To be eligible for the award, each winner was asked to present a lesson plan that incorporates an Anatomage product, highlighting how it shapes their teaching approach and engages students. Additionally, teachers shared their definition of success for their students and program, as well as expressed the most rewarding aspect of being an educator in a digital world.

As part of their award, each winner will receive a cash prize of $1,000, a complimentary pass to the Anatomage Conference and a commemorating certificate and trophy for their achievement. The Anatomage Conference brings together thought leaders from the education and healthcare industries to exchange ideas and shape the future of healthcare education for the upcoming generation of professionals.
