November 03, 2022

Applications for the 12-month program are now open, and classes are set to begin in January.

Building on the success of its 12-month, accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program which launched in Jacksonville in 2021 with Baptist Health, Jacksonville University announced it is expanding the program to its Palm Coast location.

The Jacksonville University 12-month Second Degree BSN Program offers qualified individuals an accelerated path to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in just one year. This program is designed to help meet the pressing need for nurses in Florida and beyond. Applications are now open for the new Palm Coast program and classes are set to begin in January of 2023.

“Jacksonville University is proud to expand this highly sought-after program, which has been extremely successful in Jacksonville and has served as a groundbreaking model for nursing education in our state,” said Jacksonville University President Tim Cost. “The demand for well-educated, quality nurses persists nationwide in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Jacksonville University is committed to bringing innovative solutions to address this urgent crisis.”

Classes for the program will be held in Jacksonville University’s Palm Coast location at the city’s Town Center, where graduate programs in Speech-Language Pathology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling are already underway. Students in Palm Coast will learn in an intimate classroom environment that offers personalized mentoring and instruction from high-quality faculty at Jacksonville University’s Keigwin School of Nursing. Students will also access state-of-the-art technology such as virtual reality simulation, which is designed to accelerate learning in preparation for the clinical setting.

Students will complete their clinical hours in the region’s top healthcare facilities, including Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, which has a 130-year legacy of caring for the St. Johns County community.
