Engineering ManagementCurriculum

During the first two years, engineering management students are primarily focused on math, science, and engineering courses. This includes engineering design courses with their mechanical and electrical engineering peers. Engineering management students receive the same design-based experiences where they “learn and apply” and “design and build.” This contrasts with most traditional engineering programs in which students spend their semesters taking math and science prerequisites before they are challenged with real engineering problems.

Students will then take business courses in accounting, finance, and marketing while also focusing on four specific engineering management courses. The engineering management students will meet back with their design engineering peers during the senior year design project where the engineering management students will be responsible for the management elements of the design effort.

All JU engineering students will graduate with a Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certificate. Engineering management students will also be able to test for certifications as Certified Associates in Project Management, Certified Quality Improvement Associate, and Certified Associate in Engineering Management.
