A Note on Williams Hall Furniture:

There has been some information about the furniture in Williams Hall that made its way to our staff and to students that ended up being incorrect.  Please note the following:

  • Williams Hall beds are not able to be lofted, but rather are able to be bunked.  This allows for a comparable hight as well as more space in the room.
  • If students do not want to bunk their beds, they can be raised using commercially available bed-raising kits. Kits which include only risers which the bed rests in are limited to 12" in height.  Kits which include hardware to secure the bed legs to the risers (such as clamps) are limited to 24" in height.  Students MAY NOT construct risers higher than this, and may not use other items such as cinder blocks to raise their beds.
  • Room in Williams Hall do not include dressers, but do include armoires which include 2 large drawers at the bottom. Additional storage can be added between the two armoires or under the bed.

We apologize for the confusion and inconvenience this may have caused. If you have any questions, please reach out to our office by emailing housing@ju.edu or by phone at (904) 256-7538.  Thank you.
