EPIC Leadership

June 28, 2016

To the Jacksonville University Community:

Greetings to each of you, and thanks for your continuing hard work this summer.  It is with mixed feelings that I tell you Terri Davlantes, Executive Director of our Entrepreneurism, Policy, Innovation & Commerce (EPIC) initiative, will be stepping down later this year to pursue her plan to start up her own new business in her hometown of Jacksonville.

In the two years Terri has served the University, she has helped lead the development of the EPIC program from a line item on the state budget into a premier research, education, policy and engagement initiative that helps boost Florida’s economic development and equips JU graduates with high-demand cross-disciplinary skills.  Her relentless efforts helped raise the profile of the University statewide and solidify the legislature’s commitment to this important program for years to come. Across campus, she has worked tirelessly to build a culture of collaboration among academic, administrative and community partners that is unprecedented at JU.  Many of you are working well and closely with Terri and seen firsthand the fruits of these efforts.  “Collaborate JU” is an important part of who we are.

Terri’s spirit of cooperation and work ethic have built a strong foundation for continuing the growth and investment in the EPIC program and its ideals. Through December of this year, Terri will continue her work and transition with the next leader for EPIC.  We are grateful for the time that this outstanding community and educational leader has dedicated to our University and wish her well in her ambitious entrepreneurial adventures.

Sincerely,

Tim Cost
