Veteran BSN Program
Veteran Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program
In the fall of 2013, the Jacksonville University Keigwin School of Nursing was awarded a federal grant (HRSA Grant # UF1HP26485) by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, to develop and implement a Veteran to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (VBSN) Program.
The purpose of the grant is to provide dedicated career tracks and support services that equip enrolled Veteran nursing students with the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities and coping strategies that enable them to thrive in nursing school, graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, pass the NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination), and secure employment.
The Jacksonville University Keigwin School of Nursing (JU KSON) was one of only nine nursing schools nationally to be awarded the grant.
Jacksonville University's Veteran BSN Program supports Veterans enrolled in the established, successful Pre-Licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
This program offers qualified pre-licensure Veterans an opportunity to earn a BSN through either a traditional or second degree option as a full-time, campus-based student.
