Earn Credits to Deliver Primary Care Independently
A Florida law passed this year allows qualified nurse practitioners (NPs) to independently practice without an attending physician’s supervision. Nurse practitioners must demonstrate the following guidelines have been met within the last five years: 3,000 hours of practice experience under the supervision of a physician, plus either three credit hours of graduate-level coursework or 45 continuing education units (CEU) in advanced pharmacology and differential diagnosis. Jacksonville University is offering the 45 continuing education units (CEU) needed to qualify for independent practice through self-paced, 100% online modules.

If you are a Nurse Practitioner with an active APRN license who meets eligibility requirements for independent practice as a nurse practitioner in Florida, you are eligible to apply for the Availity scholarship fund and take these courses at JU. The scholarship funds are available on a first-come-first-serve basis to qualified applicants.
