Dr. Loewen is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing at Jacksonville University Keigwin School of Nursing. She has been in nursing for 10 years with the past 6 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner in family practice, geriatric primary care, urgent care, and home-based transitional care. Dr. Loewen received her BSN from Texas Christian University; her MSN from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center; and her DNP from Texas Christian University. She is certified by the AANP as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Loewen’s research interest include standardizing transitional care services post hospital discharge, increasing access to home-based primary care services for geriatric patients, and improving geriatric focused interdisciplinary education for healthcare students and professionals.
