Dr. Kara Bragg is a Part-Time Clinical Assistant Professor in the Keigwin School of Nursing within the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences at Jacksonville University. She is a nurse practitioner practicing emergency medicine at Orange Park Medical Center providing coverage in both the urgent care and main emergency department.
She holds a BA from Boston College, an ADN from Florida Community College of Jacksonville, a BSN/MSN from University of Phoenix, a post-graduate certificate in family practice and emergency medicine from Jacksonville University, and a DNP from Jacksonville University. She received her board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and her Emergency Medicine Certification and Informatics certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is currently certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support.
Her DNP research focused on the use of renal ultrasound as a safer diagnostic tool to detect urolithiasis and the ability of the nurse practitioner to use evidence-based practice to influence practice among physicians. She is currently a contributing member of the Statpearls.com data base providing peer reviewed articles available to physicians and allied health professionals.
