Position Summary

This position supports the entire student account staff by assisting with duties ranging from customer service to special projects. Answer phones, email, and in-person requests for financial services information. Assists with billing third-party sponsorship. Document imaging and other projects involving working with spreadsheets.

Essential Job Duties

  • Customer Service – represents JU and the student accounts office in a professional, friendly and caring manner. 
  • Answer phones, emails, and in-person requests for financial services information in a timely manner. 
  • Collect payments from students. 
  • Accept deposits from auxiliary university offices; advancement, orthodontics, fine arts, athletics.  Make daily deposits. 
  • Reconcile cash drawer to daily cash receipt sessions. 
  • Verify student health insurance information and code waivers. 
  • Manage official payments, online payment processing, including daily reconciliations. 
  • Works with staff to assist with billing third-party sponsors. 
  • Works with staff to assist with student account collections. 
  • Assist with creating, adjusting, and managing student payment plans. 
  • Transfer funds from student accounts to Dolphin 1 cards. 
  • Special projects as assigned

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and resourcefulness

Work Conditions

  • Well lighted work area, temperature, and humidity controlled, seated most of the day.

Prerequisites Required for Position

Minimum Education Requirement

  • Associate’s degree preferred

Minimum Work Experience

  • Excellent computer skills 
  • Customer service experience 
  • Some accounting experience preferred but not required 
  • Previous cash-handling experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a calm and professional manner
