Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Enrollment & Advising for the Undergraduate Nursing Programs in the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences works in a team-based environment to oversee admissions, enrollment and advising for students in the campus-based, pre-licensure undergraduate nursing programs. Collaborates with the Undergraduate Program Director to implement strategic goals for program development and enhancement.


Essential Job Duties

  1. Directs the recruitment and leads admissions processes for programs in the Keigwin School of Nursing undergraduate pre-licensure programs.
  2. Tracks retention for undergraduate pre-licensure nursing program and collaborates with administration to implement effective retention strategies.
  3. Serves as liaison between the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences, Keigwin School of Nursing and the University Admissions office for pre-licensure undergraduate nursing programs.
  4. Evaluates and processes applicants for admission to the Keigwin School of Nursing pre-licensure undergraduate program, and is responsible for notification of admission status to program applicants and office of admissions.
  5. Collaborates with faculty on orientation activities for each entering cohort.
  6. Counsels students regularly on program eligibility, course schedule recommendations, and progression in the nursing program.
  7. Advises all pre-licensure undergraduate nursing students for registration, program progression, and ensures fulfillment of degree requirements.
  8. Serves as a liaison to faculty for undergraduate pre-licensure nursing program.
  9. Advises program director on strategic program growth and development based on analytics from admission, progression, and retention.
  10. Responsible for collecting metrics regarding undergraduate pre-licensure nursing students’ as necessary for accreditation and university reporting.
  11. Completes an end of year report related to role responsibilities, accomplishments, and programmatic changes.
  12. Serves on the Nursing Undergraduate Committee.
  13. Other duties as deemed necessary.

Work Conditions

  1. Primarily indoors except when traveling between campus buildings or being off-campus
  2. Standard office hours
  3. Some off-campus travel required

  1. Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines
  2. Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens
  3. Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone

Prerequisites Required for Position

Minimum Education Requirement

  1. Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a University environment
  • Knowledge of nursing profession and educational requirements
