Position Summary

The Department of History at Jacksonville University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Instructor position in United States History, thematic and time period specializations open.   The teaching load is four courses per semester, including the introductory surveys on United States history, first-year Core Curriculum seminars with US History themes, and specialized upper-division courses from the candidate’s area of expertise.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have:  

  • a Ph.D. in History by the time of appointment in August 2021 
  • a strong commitment to effective undergraduate teaching, scholarship, and University service 
  • excellent written and verbal skills
