Position Summary

The Department of Sociology at Jacksonville University invites applications for a one year Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology, position beginning August 2020. Area of specialization is open. The successful candidate will teach a regular load of four courses per semester, including a range of courses for majors and non-majors with some sections of Introduction to Sociology. Candidates will contribute to the mission of the department, which emphasizes mentorship and exceptional instruction. The candidate will join a department recognized for its commitment to undergraduate teaching, mentorship and service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in sociology at time of appointment is preferred; A.B.D. considered

  • Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching
