Position Summary
The Department of Literature, Language, and Culture, with the Linda Berry Stein College of Fine Arts & Humanities at Jacksonville University, invites applications for the position of Instructor of English, beginning August 2022. Instructor positions at Jacksonville University require a commitment to teaching excellence and some departmental service. The minimum qualifications are a Master’s degree in English or a closely related field, or 18 hours of graduate coursework in English or a closely related field. A PhD in English or a closely related field is a plus.
Candidates must have extensive classroom experience in rhetoric and composition and demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. Candidates will be expected to teach Elements of Composition and Introductory Writing, with the possibility of teaching core literature classes in World Literature or Core Seminar topics as needed.
