Position Summary

The Department of Computing Science at Jacksonville University invites applications for a tenure track position, beginning August 2020. The Department features majors in Computing Science, Information Systems, and Cyber Security. The ability to teach a broad range of lower-level and upper-level courses is desired as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Essential Job Duties

Ideal candidates will have expertise and teaching experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • data mining and analytics
  • machine learning
  • cloud computing
  • networking and cybersecurity
  • software engineering
  • project management
  • Experience directing students in undergraduate, cross-disciplinary research and development of software applications as a capstone course would be beneficial.
  • Additional expectations include actively pursuing scholarly research and professional development opportunities.

Prerequisites Required for Position

Minimum Education Requirement

  • Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or closely related area by August 14, 2020.
