Position Summary

The faculty will teach Management and Leadership courses in both the undergraduate and MBA program consistent with her/his expertise and industry experience.  Preferred qualities include a desire to serve Jacksonville University’s students, promote cross-cultural engagement and invite interaction with the local business community.  PhD degree from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited institution is a primary expectation for any applicant. The faculty must be able show evidence of their potential for high quality and impactful scholarship in the area of management or a related field.  The faculty should have evidence of teaching excellence in the management area at peer institutions and provide exceptional references, student evaluations, and other third-party indications of classroom success.

Essential Job Duties

  • Teaching lower and upper division courses as well as graduate level courses.
  • Developing effective courses, benchmarking the best teaching practices of Management in higher education.
  • Effectively assess class and program level learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrating capabilities to engage students and participate in an outcomes-based educational environment.
  • Serve on faculty committees and contribute to the university community.
  • Willingness to mentor students, and help them with their career goals.
  • Successfully publish peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings to maintain AACSB academic qualifications.
  • Teaching 12 credits (usually four courses) per semester.

Prerequisites Required for Position

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD degree from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited institution
  • Evidence of potential as a Researcher in the area of Management and related fields.
  • Demonstrate commitment and ability to produce strong research program and/or area of scholarship
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in professional or academic areas.
  • Willing to chair and serve on DBA dissertation committees.
  • Passionate about teaching, preferably evidenced by excellent student evaluations; must be able to demonstrate teaching capabilities.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues is essential. Experience working effectively in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community and business community. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industrial or corporate business experience related to Management is preferred.
  • Evidence of publications in high quality journals in the field
  • Experience in teaching online or web-enhanced courses
