Position Summary

The Division of Visual Arts in the Linda Berry Stein College of Fine Arts at Jacksonville University invites applications for a one-year renewable contract for Artist in Residence of Digital Media for the academic term of 2019-2020 (beginning August 15, 2019).

Essential Job Duties

  • Teach a part-time course load in the areas of Digital Media
  • Develop syllabi with documented learning objectives and assessment criteria
  • Hold regular course and office hours
  • Participate in campus professional activities, which include, but are not limited to development of course curriculums and new instructional approaches, thesis committee memberships, learning outcomes assessment, staff meetings and community outreach
  • Continually assess programs for learning effectiveness, working with the division chair to make changes through relevant committees if necessary
  • Mentor Senior students in the development of their Senior Theses
  • Aid students in developing highly competitive job portfolios

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of professional experience
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • MFA in related field
  • Teaching experience in higher education
