Job Description

Responsible for studio operations for the School of Art & Design

Essential Job Duties

The studio operations of the Arts Research Complexes (ARCs) (both 2D and 3D) and support studio and equipment associated with Media Arts. This Includes:

  • Manage day-to-day needs of facilities; submit, monitor and coordinate work orders
  • Coordinate repair and/or replacement of tools, equipment, and displays of facilities
  • Manage tool/resource checkout system and oversight of student workers
  • Monitor, uphold, and develop safety protocols in accordance with the institution
  • Manage inventories, throughways and storage spaces
  • Process, distribute, and store incoming purchased materials
  • Fabricate, design and source materials for projects as directed
  • Recognize problems and inefficiencies in all lab areas and propose solutions for better flow and student experiences
  • Monitor and manage schedules and sign out blocks for all lab areas
  • Assist and spearhead the maintenance and rebuild of all glass/ceramic/wood/metal equipment
  • Assist with staffing and inventory of Media “CAGE”.
  • Work closely with Associate Dean to strategize needs of the position and facilities
  • Serve on the EHS Safety Committee
