Position Summary

The RN BSN Coordinator is an appointed faculty position in the Keigwin School of Nursing with administrative release time (50%) to fulfill the responsibilities for the oversight and management of the RN-BSN programs, online and ground-based cohorts. The coordinator reports to the Undergraduate Nursing Director, Associate Dean of the Keigwin School of Nursing, and the Dean of the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences (BRCHS).

Essential Job Duties

  1. This position will plan the overall calendar of courses, including class scheduling, coordinating faculty teaching assignments, overseeing payroll, and is involved in the interviewing, hiring and evaluation of full-time and adjunct faculty teaching in the programs.
  2. Responsibilities include evaluation of staff and academic advisors supporting these programs in collaboration with the Undergraduate Director for the Nathan M. Bisk Center for Professional Studies.
  3. The coordinator handles all RN BSN student issues, compiles metrics/analytics for student completion, attrition, employment, graduation rates, and completion of program assessment outcomes
  4. The coordinator continually evaluates the RN BSN curriculum-ensuring updates/revisions are completed and current.
  5. Additional responsibilities include participation in orientation and exit interviews for ground-based cohorts, reviews and summarizes the end of course/faculty evaluations and end of program survey data for online and ground-based cohorts, and creates a comprehensive end of year report for the Undergraduate Nursing Director and the Associate Dean of Nursing
  6. Program strategic planning with emphasis on program rigor and quality is an expectation.
  7. The RN BSN coordinator is an integral member for the reaccreditation process for this program, teaches in the program, and performs other duties as assigned by the Undergraduate Director, Associate Dean of Nursing, and Dean of BRCHS.

Work Conditions

  1. Primarily indoors except when traveling between campus buildings or being off-campus
  2. Standard office hours with occasional evening hours to support BRCHS or University events
  3. Some off-campus travel required

Physical Requirements

  1. Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines
  2. Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens
  3. Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone

Prerequisites Required for Position

Minimum Education Requirement

  • MSN

Minimum Work Experience

  1. Academic teaching experience at the Baccalaureate or Graduate level to include online.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a University environment
  • Knowledge of nursing profession and educational requirements
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida and/or eligible to obtain licensure
