Job Summary
The Director has responsibility for the implementation and management of the Quality Enhancement Plan that focuses on inclusion and belonging through the lens of DEI and Disability efforts. This position will manage the strategic plan for diversity, equity, and inclusion, along with assessment planning and updates as part of Jacksonville University’s reaffirmation of its SACSCOC accreditation. Director reports directly to the Office of the Provost.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Partner with University administration, faculty, staff, and students to execute and advance a strategic DEI plan that enhances the recruitment, retention, and advancement of students, faculty, and staff from historically underrepresented groups
- Participate in and coordinate efforts with other campus entities and organizations to provide diversity-focused programming that benefits the larger JU community
- Identify, develop, and implement assessment methodologies to evaluate the outcomes of strategic goals, objectives, program policies, and special initiatives in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Provide strategic direction for training initiatives on cultural competency, gender differences, disability, building a climate of equity and inclusion, and other topics designed to increase awareness and support of equity and inclusion values
- Receive and review applications for courses to satisfy the diversity, equity, and inclusion requirement recently adopted as a university requirement for all undergraduate students and make recommendations to the Experiential Learning Curriculum committee regarding these courses
- Guide the University’s five-year diversity, equity, and inclusion-based Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), by ensuring the plan remains in compliance with SACSCOC requirements, by preparing results and findings for annual institutional progress reports for the QEP Steering Committee, university leadership, and other relevant constituencies, and submitting the five-year QEP evaluation report to SACSCOC
- Advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion through committee work and other channels, as needed or assigned

- Strong analytical and problem solving-skills
- Ability to prioritize to provide tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience
- PhD preferred, Masters degree in Higher education leadership, educational research and Evaluation or related field required
- Experience teaching at the college/university level
- Knowledge base of outcomes-based curricular design, program development, and assessment of learning outcomes
- Demonstrated evidence of using qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods
- Ability to negotiate all aspects of the project’s success across complex academic units
- Familiarity with SACSCOC Quality Enhancement Plan requirements
- Demonstrated success focusing faculty and staff toward student learning
- Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives in higher education
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach
- Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines
- Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone
