Position Summary

The Executive Administrator to the Dean serves as the executive assistant to the dean of the college with a complex set of responsibilities related to the dean’s office and performs a variety of advanced administrative support duties. This position serves as the dean’s liaison with a variety of constituencies, including university leadership; prospective and current students; alumni; current and prospective donors; all executive and administrative staff within the college; faculty within the college and across the university campus; and the general public. The Executive Administrator to the Dean anticipates, initiates, and coordinates all matters for the dean, including communications, budgets, scheduling, events, meetings, record keeping, contracts, and other personnel forms. 

Special Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills; attention to detail; superior organizational skills; and the ability to establish priorities, multi-task, and mediate difficult situations and people are required. Confidentiality, initiative, and the ability to solve problems and to foster a team-oriented environment with a diverse group of individuals are extremely important.

Prerequisites Required for Position

Associates degree and least five (5) years of advanced administrative support is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Experience in an academic setting

A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
