Job Summary
The Jacksonville University Department of Athletics is accepting applications for
the position of Compliance Coordinator. Anticipated start date for this position is
July 1, 2023. The position is designed for primary responsibilities in the areas of
NCAA Bylaws 13 (recruiting) and 17 (playing and practice seasons). Other duties include
areas related to initial and transfer eligibility, coordination of squad lists and
eligibility checklists, the National Letter of Intent program, and rules education
for student-athletes, coaches, and staff. A minimum of one year experience in Division
I compliance and familiarity with NCAA NLI, Eligibility Center, and LSDBi applications
is required. Preference may be given to candidates with additional compliance experience.
Jacksonville University sponsors 18 varsity-level teams with primary NCAA conference affiliation in the ASUN Conference. JU also holds associate memberships in the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (women’s rowing), and Intercollegiate Rowing Association (men’s rowing).
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in compiling and distributing pre-season initial eligibility rosters to coaching staffs and communicating outstanding NCAA Eligibility Center tasks
- Coordinate approval of official visits
- Monitor countable athletically-related activities (practice logs) in JumpForward compliance software
- Monitor recruiting phone calls and recruiting activities in JumpForward
- Reconcile incoming off-campus recruiting itineraries with legislated recruiting calendars
- Coordinate the signing of squad lists and eligibility checklists
- Assist in the National Letter of Intent process
- Coordinate approval of institutional and non-institutional camps and clinics
- Coordinate student-athlete name, image and likeness (NIL) disclosure process
- Assist in the coordination of coaches’ local sports club participation and attendance at events involving prospective student-athletes
- Assist in the overall rules education program for JU student-athletes, coaches, athletics staff, and cross-campus partners, including in-person presentation opportunities on relevant compliance topics.
Required Skills/Abilities
- The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required
- A working knowledge of NCAA applications including the NCAA Eligibility Center, NLI portal, and LSDBi is required
- Candidates who possess familiarity with JumpForward software will be given priority
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of the NCAA Eligibility Center, NLI portal, and LSDBi, and one year experience in an NCAA Division I compliance office
Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Preference will be given to candidates who have more than the minimum required number of years’ experience and have a working knowledge JumpForward
Physical Requirements
Ability to use a computer and lift 5lbs as needed.
