Position Summary

The Enrollment & Advising Assistant for the Undergraduate Programs in the Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences works in a team-based environment to assist in admissions, enrollment and advising for students in the campus-based undergraduate nursing programs. 

Essential Job Duties

  • Complete task assigned by the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Enrollment in the admissions processes for programs in the Keigwin School of Nursing undergraduate programs. 
  • Evaluate applicants for admission to the Keigwin School of Nursing undergraduate graduate programs. 
  • Assist in orientation activities for each entering cohort. 
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Enrollment to counsel students regarding eligibility, course schedule recommendations, and progression in undergraduate nursing programs. 
  • Assist in the advising of undergraduate nursing students for registration, program progression, and fulfillment of degree requirements 
  • Serve as a liaison to faculty for undergraduate nursing programs.  
  • Assist in the collection of metrics regarding undergraduate nursing students’ race, ethnicity, gender, employment as necessary for accreditation and university reporting.  
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Enrollment.

Work Conditions

  • Primarily indoors except when traveling between campus buildings or being off-campus 
  • Standard office hours  
  • Some off-campus travel required

Physical Requirements

  • Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines 
  • Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens 
  • Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone

Prerequisites Required for Position

Minimum Education Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum Work Experience

  • Training available

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a University environment 
  • Knowledge of the nursing profession and educational requirements 
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
