Professional Information
David Irwin, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. He received his B.S.E. and M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Central Missouri. He did his doctoral work in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center. He has worked in a variety of clinical settings including schools, hospitals, home health, private practice, and a state institution for juvenile delinquents. His areas of research have including pediatric speech and language disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ethics, and research methods. He has over 150 professional presentations and has co-authored two books. He has obtained approximately $1.8 million in grants and contracts. He is a Past President of the Louisiana Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Dr. Irwin has worked for the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-Shreveport and now for Jacksonville University-Palm Coast. His hobbies include camping and enjoying team sports.
