The Dolphin Student Investment Fund (DSIF) was established in 1987 with an endowment fund from the Davis family and JU. The fund is designed to provide Jacksonville University students, particularly those in the Davis College of Business, with valuable experience in investment portfolio management, a skill sought after by employers. The Fund is incorporated in an upper-level financial course. Students actively manage the fund under the supervision of the Advisory Board, which consists of JU faculty members, investment and finance professionals, and alumni.
Students act as the Analysts, Research Fellows, or Portfolio Managers. They design long-term investment strategies, conduct in-depth security analysis, and present security research reports. They also develop economic and industry outlooks, make investment decisions, monitor and evaluate portfolio performance, and make adjustments to the holdings as appropriate.
The CFA Research Challenge Team won the local competitions and became Florida State Champion, two times in a row. Read more about this exciting victory and the next challenge.
