Campus Housing

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the process for assigning campus housing?
Returning students are assigned a priority number based upon class standing (i.e. current seniors are given the highest priority and current freshmen are given the lowest priority).  Returning students choose their own room in April based upon their priority number.

What about new freshmen & transfer students?
Following the continuing student sign-up period, remaining spaces are assigned to new students (first-time freshmen and transfers) first-come, first-served based upon the date a completed housing application is received by the Housing Office.  The Admissions deposit must be made before a Housing application can be completed.

Where do I find housing information and the application?
Signing up for your room on campus is as easy as 1 – 2 – 3!

  1. Visit http://myroom.ju.edu.  You will need to log in with your JU username and password, which you will receive once you pay your enrollment deposit.
  2. Complete the housing application online.  Here you can tell us what kind of roommate you want, what kind of room you prefer, and even make specific roommate requests.
  3. Move into your room and get ready for an exciting year at JU!

What are the campus housing options at JU?

  • Village Apartments: Four bedroom, two bath full apartments with private bedrooms (reserved for continuing students)
  • Oak Hall: Two shared bedrooms joined by one bathroom
  • Other residence halls: Single and shared rooms with common lavatory

When will I find out about my room assignment & roommate?
You will receive an email from Residential Life with your room assignment in mid-July for Fall applicants and ovember for Spring applicants.  The email will be sent to your jacksonville.edu email address, so please check it frequently.
