Jacksonville University has established this group of lenders based on their ability to process Stafford Loans in a timely well monitored process. Please be aware you do not have to choose one of the lenders listed on our website, if you chose someone else please provide us with a Master Promissory Note listing that lender along with contact information on where to send a manual certification. Please be aware using a lender outside of our normal electronic process may delay the receipt of funds.
If you are a student borrowing your first Federal Stafford Loan or Graduate PLUS Loan at JU, please sign the MPN on-line following the instructions in the next few paragraphs. New Federal Stafford Loan and Graduate PLUS Loan borrowers are required, by federal regulation, to complete a pre-loan counseling sessions. All borrowers must also attend an exit interview prior to leaving the University. Undergraduate students need only to complete the Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling upon entering Jacksonville University. Orthodontics students please complete both Stafford and Graduate PLUS Loan Entrance counseling sessions.

If your award inludes a Federal Perkins Loan or a Davin Institutional Loan, you can complete the Federal Perkins Loan Master Promissory Note or the Davin Master Promissory Note on-line as well. Click here to e-sign your Perkins or Davin MPN.
Federal Loan funds are sent to Jacksonville University at the beginning of the term they are intended for and are issued each semester. The funds for the first time borrowers may not be released until 30 days after the semester begins. One-semester Stafford loans are delivered in two payments with the second payment delivered no earlier than mid-term.
Parents of the dependent students may apply for a Federal PLUS (Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students) loan. Parents of all income levels are eligible; however, there is a credit worthiness evaluation conducted by the lender before the loan is approved. Students enrolled in a graduate program at Jacksonville University can apply for a Federal Graduate PLUS Loan. All graduate students who have filed a valid FAFSA are eligible for the Grad PLUS program; however, there is a credit check requirement for this federal loan product. You may apply for the entire cost of attendance minus any other financial aid you are receiving. (Click Here to complete your Grad PLUS Master Promissory Note.)
Investigate all possibilities for local and state scholarships, and complete separate applications as required. Notify the Financial Aid Office of any outside awards, regardless of the source or amount.
