Freshman Admission

Jacksonville University offers the unique opportunity to be accepted into the nursing program as a high school senior. As a student in the Jacksonville University School of Nursing’s Freshman Acceptance Program, you are given the unique opportunity to be involved with School of Nursing activities and functions beginning your freshman year.

You will start learning the basics of nursing right from the beginning of your college experience and have the chance to live with other freshman nursing students in a designated block of dorm rooms. You will also have the chance to meet and select a member from the Student Nursing Association, who will serve as your mentor and help guide you through your freshman year.

During the fall semester, you will take Introduction to Nursing, where you will have the opportunity to meet School of Nursing faculty and students, examine historical roots of professional nursing right up to the current issues, and shadow a practicing nurse at a local hospital.

Admission Criteria:

  • High School GPA-3.2
  • High School Chemistry, Biology and Algebra with a B or equivalently weighted AP course grade.
  • SAT-1100 or ACT-24
