Stephen Baker received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Political Science from Northern Illinois University. He also served as Northern Illinois University’s Assistant Director of the Office for Historical Social Research. His teaching interests include: American Government, Parties and Elections, the Presidency, Politics and the Media, Courts and the Constitution, Research Methods and Public Administration. His research interests are: why politics seems so dysfunctional, campaigns and elections, public opinion, political trends, and the role of media in politics. Dr. Baker is a frequent media commentator and a member of the Jacksonville University faculty for 27 years.
